No threats have been reported and while students may view these trends as jokes or harmless entertainment, participation can quickly lead to situations that are disruptive, disrespectful, embarrassing, or harmful to other students.
We ask parents and guardians to talk with their children about these trends and periodically review their social media activity. Students who encounter concerning accounts, posts, photographs, or videos involving members of our school community should not repost, comment on, or spread the material. Instead, they should save the relevant information and report the concern to a parent, teacher, counselor, or school administrator.
It is our priority to ensure that humor and social media activity do not come at the expense of another person's dignity, privacy, safety, or ability to learn. We appreciate the support of our students and families as we work together to maintain a safe, respectful, and positive school community.

Hello Jr high and High school parents: There will be a bake sale on Friday during lunch to help raise funds for prom. Most items will be $1 or $2 dollars. A reminder that all students will be released Friday at 12 pm for an early release. Solen Sioux VB play at home Friday night and XC will be in Bismarck on Saturday. Cheer them on too. Go Sioux! Picture day is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th! The photographer will begin the day at Cannon Ball Elementary and head over to Solen High School in the afternoon! We will be sending home picture order forms with your student(s) this week!

Reminder - school dismisses at 12 pm on Friday, September 25. Students will have lunch before they leave for the day.
Parents and Guardians,
All students who attend a North Dakota Public School or who are homeschooled must provide up-to-date immunization records to the school. This must be done by October 1, 2026. Our offices are here to help with this. If you have already submitted up-to-date immunization documents and the office has verified that we have them, you do not need to do anything else. Each school will have a process to ensure we have all up-to-date records. They are outlined below:
Solen – IHS did immunizations today during the health screenings. We did receive a number of up-to-date records through this process. If your child attends school in Solen and is still missing up-to-date records, the school will be in contact, and you are expected to develop a plan before October 1. If we have your plan to get your child up-to-date, he or she will be considered in compliance.
Cannon Ball – IHS will be at the school on November 18th to do immunizations. You will receive paperwork prior to this that you will be required to fill out. Any student who has the paperwork completed by the date (you will receive this information soon) will be in compliance. We will be contacting those students who are out of compliance on an individual basis.
Additionally, if you chose to exempt your child from vaccinations, you still are required to fill out the exemption form and turn it into the school by October 1, 2026.

‼️JR. HIGH MATH SHOUT-OUT‼️
Our Junior High students had a great spring testing season last year, and our scores continue to move in the right direction!
Fall testing is almost complete, and our MATH scores are off to a great start!
6th Grade
50% scored Level 2 or above
19% reached Proficient
7th Grade
67% scored Level 2 or above
17% reached Proficient
8% reached Advanced
8th Grade
63% scored Level 2 or above
9% reached Proficient
Strong scores take a year-long commitment from students, staff, and families. This is a great starting point as we work toward even more growth this spring! Parents can review individual scoring reports next month at conferences.

The last couple days Ms. Kramer and Maxine Thunder Hawk, School Board President, were in Washington, DC with other North Dakota superintendents and board members advocating for Impact Aid funding. Impact Aid is a significant part of our school's revenue and vital to school operations and resources. The group met with staff from Senator Hoeven, Senator Cramer, and Representative Fedorchak's staff to discuss the significance of Impact Aid to our schools. Thank you to Senators Cramer and Hoeven for being a part of the Impact Aid Coalition.

Good afternoon families,
For elementary girls basketball players traveling to Fort Yates:
Cannon Ball Elementary girls basketball players will go home after school as usual, then be picked up by Ernie at 4:00 PM. Please have your player ready to go.
Girls basketball players who live in Solen will stay at Cannon Ball Elementary after school and be picked up there by Ernie at 4:00 PM.
6th grade girls basketball players coming from the high school will ride Blake's bus to Cannon Ball Elementary, then transfer to Ernie's bus with the rest of the team.
Junior high and High school tutoring will start after school on Thursday September 17th. Tutoring runs most Tuesdays and Thursdays. A late bus will pick up students at the school around 4:45 and bring students home. Please talk with your child about staying on these nights. It is a great way to get extra help or finish makeup work.
