Last night was the first night of math club. Students participated in a team challenge and spent time playing math-related games and puzzles. There was a great turn out! We highly encourage high school students to stay for tutoring or clubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thank you to our staff who help run these activities!

We will begin the day with a short ceremony at Cannon Ball Elementary. Our **Solen High School Drum Group** will join us at **8:30 AM** to sing a song in recognition of Orange Shirt Day. **Elementary students who would like to participate will be invited to sing along with the drum group.**
Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for our school community to remember, reflect, and stand together in recognition that:

We had our first early-out Friday this past Friday. Once the students were dismissed our staff engaged in professional development. Elementary staff had PD on how to help students with low vision. They even got to wear simulation glasses and put themselves in the students' shoes. Our 4th-12th grade math teachers participated in the Math Counts training by NCEC. But before that, our Solen students participated in math and reading intentions, horse therapy, STEM challenges and a culture exchange. Also, the attendance winners for September were rewarded with root beer floats.
