Our high school giving tree is up! Students may take or donate any items of need. Student council is also collecting any cold weather items that are new or gently used. We would like to thank our community partners, the abused adult resource center, full service community schools, and everyone who makes this possible. Happy Holidays.

Today we had some special guests at our schools. District 31 Senator Schaible and Representative Rohr visited our schools to engage with administration, staff and students about our district. We want to thank our elected officials for their dedication to those they represent.

The freshman class had the opportunity Dec. 5th to travel up to BSC for a career and technical field trip. They spent their time in sessions learning about forensic sciences and engineering!

Congratulations to our December student of the month winners! (Not pictured: Christian DuBray). We also held our drawing for 3 random winners of our attendance incentive. The three students received a giftcard. Our next incentive is for students turning in missing work. Students don't forget this is the first month you can earn your name in our drawing if you have perfect attendance for a pair of Jordans at the end of the year!

Thursday night's girls basketball game vs Standing Rock has been postponed. Once a date has been rescheduled, it will be posted. There will be girls basketball practice on Thursday. We ask for your continued support as we work to build our athletic programs at Solen High School.

Annyeonghaseyo (hello)! 👋 7th Grade kids tried out Korea's well-loved ramyeon noodles and spicy kimchi. Yum! This activity was part of their lesson in Asian geography with a glimpse of Asian food and culture. Kamsahamnida (thank you) 9th Grade for assisting in preparing the food! You rock! 🤘

Reading in the dark?!
First grade did just that! They grabbed a pillow and blanket, some good books, and a flashlight and got to reading!

Pre-K had a little extra energy to burn and it was too windy to go outside, so we brought the movement and fun indoors!!

6th Grade students finishing up a STEM challenge- Ancient Mesopotamia Cuneiform Coding

Today we had Dr. DeCoteau in our school. She spent time with administration and then ended the day with a whole staff professional development.

🌊🚢 Sailing Into Problem-Solving! 🚢🌊
Today, students took on the challenge of designing and building aluminum foil boats! 🛠️✨ After carefully crafting their vessels, we set them afloat and tested their strength by adding pennies as weight. 💰💪
It was amazing to watch them brainstorm, collaborate, and adapt their designs as they worked to keep their boats afloat for as long as possible. 🧠⚓ Who knew so much STEM learning could happen with a few sheets of paper, some water, and a whole lot of creativity? 💡📐
