September 15th is National Dot Day in honor of Peter H. Reynolds' children's book The Dot. The book tells the story of a student who is encouraged by her teacher to "make her mark" starting with a simple dot, which ultimately leads to a journey of self-discovery, confidence, and creativity!
Mrs. Ferguson's 2nd graders celebrated Dot Day with a dot art project! Come check it out this evening at Family Game Night!
There will be NO Night Lights on Tuesday, Sept. 16, so families can attend the Family Fun Night at Cannon Ball Elementary.

This is a reminder to ensure that the school has your child's updated immunization form in the office. To enroll in school in North Dakota, children must show they are up - to- date on the required immunizations or an exemption must be filed for each student. Please use the link below to refer to the exemption form. You may also obtain a form from the office.
Each student student must be current on all required immunizations or have an exemption filed by October 1, 2025. or they will be excluded from school. If you have a question regarding your child's immunization forms, please reach out to the building secretary. Additionally, the secretaries may be in contact with you if more documentation is needed for your child.

Night Lights Program Information
Night Lights begins Monday, September 8, 2025. Sessions will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. Students will be placed in groups and assigned a specific day to attend.
A program calendar will also be posted on the school’s Facebook page. Night Lights follows the school calendar. If there are any changes or cancellations, families will be notified by note, Facebook post, or all-call.
During Night Lights, students will strengthen skills in reading, math, writing, and STEM through practice, enrichment, and support. Time may also be used to catch up on assignments or finish homework. A snack will be provided at 4:30, and students will be bused home at 4:45.
Participation is optional; however, if your child is enrolled, regular attendance is expected unless you notify the school that they are withdrawing from the program. Students whose behavior disrupts learning may be removed from Night Lights.
If your child has enrolled, here are the grade assignments. Each classroom teacher has a list of students enrolled and will help the students get to Night Lights. A list will go home with all Night Lights students. Please watch for it.
