This lovely lady deserves her own post. Our beloved Cannon Ball Elementary cook Wanda Stretches is retiring after 23 years of service. Thank you for the thousands of wonderful meals you have cooked for the students and staff over the years. You will be missed!!

Yesterday we recognized our wonderful staff for year of service. Staff were recognized for 5, 10,15, and 20 years.

Good morning Cannon Ball families. Today 5/21/26 is our school wide play day. Students will be competing in events this morning out on our playground. Families are more than welcome to come spectate. Seniors: A reminder you need to bring your cap and gowns to school, tomorrow May 20th.

Students at Solen High School assisted with the tipi raising to conclude our school year and to honor our 2026 graduates.

We want to thank Davis Fool Bear, Ron LeBeau, and all the staff at WOZU who helped our high school students learn about butchering and processing buffalo meat during our buffalo days activities. Thanks to Game and Fish, William Kelly, and Jeff Kelly helping our students during the buffalo harvest. Also last week, high school students had the opportunity to learn about one of the Dakota ceremonies, Oinikaga (Sweat Lodge). Throughout the day, students were told teachings that go with the ceremony and helped construct one with the instruction of Mr. Grey Cloud. Once the lodge was complete, Mr. Allen Flying Bye was able to run the ceremony for students who wanted to participate.

Our hardworking students created and submitted posters for the Water Resources Poster Contest, which was open to students from across the Standing Rock Reservation. We are proud to announce that Cannon Ball Elementary had several winners! 👏
