Please note the following calendar changes due to staff professional development.
October 29th and November 10th will be early dismissals with elementary students dismissing at 11:30 and seconday students dismissing at 11:45. Students will have lunch before departure on both days.
There will not be school on Wednesday, November 19th.

Solen Public School Families,
Starting this school year, we have adopted an additional, and very convenient, way for you to receive information about what is going on in your child's classroom as well as communicate with your child's teacher. The district has adopted the Remind App. This is a free app that you can dowload onto an iPhone or Android device. The will allow us to communicate with you via secured text-messaging. Your personal contact information is not visible to others.
Some teachers have sent invites out to parents already. All teachers will send out invites by the first week in November so please be on the lookout.
Additionally, please be sure that the school has the most up to date parent/guardian contact information as we use your contact information for all alerts as well.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Today was super fun for Cannon Ball students to celebrate Thor and Collin’s birthdays. Puppy chow snacks were given to students and a big shout out to Jaya and Jaires for the dog toys and snack bags. It’s so heartwarming to see how much they adore and care about him.

Pre-K had an exciting September with the arrival of our VR!! We have been very busy trying it out and connecting it to our learning!! We can't wait to see what all it has to offer!!

Yesterday the kindergartners went to the pumpkin patch. Despite the cold weather we had a blast.

School Picture Time & Date Update and Early Dismissal for Wednesday, October 15th, 2025.
Pictures are Wednesday, October 15th at both schools. They will be starting first thing in the morning so they can finish by 1 pm.
Reminder, 1 pm dismissial on Wednesday for parent teacher conferences. Conferences start at 1:30 on Wednesday.

Parent -Teacher Conferences will be held on October 15th, 2025 from 1:30-7:30 pm at both schools. Schools will dismiss at 1 pm for all grades on October 15th. A meal will be served at both schools. If you need transportation, please call the school that day,

Last night was a very special game night for the JV Volleyball team. Solen's senior's were honored, therapy service dog Thor was in attendance, and staff surprised the team with amazing food after the game. These girls are amazing and Solen is grateful to have such wonderful support from staff to help make it possible!

Huge shout out to our Solen District coaches this month! They do so much for our students and make an important positive impact as role models. Also, much thanks and recognition to the man who coordinates it all and makes sure there are opportunities for our students and staff to make a difference in the community. (He is also a master on the PA and side DJ gig) THANK YOU COACHES AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, JOSH STANDING ELK!!!

Fun-filled night of sports for Solen District! Don't miss the girls' basketball game in Cannon Ball at 4:00pm vs Standing Rock, then head over to Solen for JV Volleyball at 6:00pm vs McIntosh!

Kindergarten got to enjoy carving pumpkins today to celebrate the fall season.

Our Elementary Girls Basketball Team takes on Standing Rock at 4:00 PM right here in Cannon Ball — come cheer them on!

Then head to Solen as our Lady Sioux Volleyball Team hosts McIntosh for one game only at 6:00 PM.

Today some of our students went to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Inauguration Ceremony. It was a great learning experience and the students there had great questions. They enjoyed seeing the recognition and honoring of the outgoing Tribal Council and the swearing-in of the newly elected officials.

The Girls' Basketball team is playing tonight in a home game at Cannon Ball Elementary School!!! Come cheer on the girls as they go head-to-head with Little Eagle at 4:00pm!

Elementary Girls Basketball Announcement SCHEDULE CHANGE for Tuesday, October 7th. Elementary girls will play 1 game at 4 pm against Little Eaglle today. The game scheduled for today against Standing Rock has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 9th at 4 pm.
