Yesterday we had our last fire drill of the year. We have been working all year to get out of our building in less than a minute once the alarm goes off. The junior high and high school made it out in 59 seconds and the elementary made it out in 49 seconds. The kids were excited that they accomplished their goal. North Dakota schools are required to have four fire drills per year.
Solen Public School is partnering with Northland Health Centers to offer students sports physicals on April 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. To schedule a sports physical call the Bismarck South Clinic at 701.255.4242.
Students must have forms completed before their appointment by a parent and/or guardian. Forms can be picked up and returned to the school office.

Craft club has been in full swing! We've been diamond painting, tye-dyeing; slime making, flower crafting, creating Sioux shirts, beading, building sun-catchers, and making personalized buttons.
High school students going on the culture trip this weekend need to turn in their signed parent permission forms by tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. Forms can be turned into the front office.
A reminder that today's rescheduled elementary volleyball match from April 1st at McLaughlin is for 5th and 6th grade players only. The minibus will be departing at 3:30 PM.
Seniors! Graduation is right around the corner. Don't forget to bring in pictures for our Senior slideshow. Here is some information if you are planning to take Senior pictures.
To celebrate Easter the kindergarten class got to participate in an Easter egg hunt. They collected so many eggs and had a blast!!
Then they got a surprise of each getting their own Easter baskets filled with goodies that they got to keep and take home!!
Tonight our Lady Sioux Volleyball are playing against Rock Creek in Cannon Ball. Come out and cheer on the girls. Game time 5:00pm. Concessions available.

🏐 Elementary Volleyball — Today (4/9) UPDATE
Today's match against Rock Creek will feature our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students only.
Mobridge has canceled their track and field meet for Saturday, April 11.
High school's track meet scheduled for tomorrow (4/7) in Hazen has been canceled due to weather conditions.
Next week the Elementary students will be starting their State testing in Reading (blue) and Writing (yellow). Please make sure they are getting enough sleep at home so they can focus and do their best. Have a great weekend Solen Sioux!
The Easter Bunny returned to the high school today!
Students were surprised with candy bags and got new toothbrushes and toothpaste to help keep their teeth clean after eating all their candy. It was a great way to bring a little fun into the building before break!

We want to give a shoutout to our math team and all the students this semester. They are preparing for Spring testing that starts at the end of the month. Middle school students are competing for a pizza party. Remember to get plenty of sleep and a good meal when we start testing. Attendance matters: Show up everyday Solen Sioux! We have had some questions about the weather and school. For today, school and after school activities will run as normal. Right now the weather man is telling us that the snow will stop at 1 pm and start again at 7 pm and it will be 33-35 degrees throughout that time.
To be fully prepared, we are sending packets home with kids JUST IN CASE the weather prevents us from having school tomorrow. Our plan is to have a normal day tomorrow unless mother nature changes our mind for us.
Remember, this is all dependent upon what the weather does. Our goal is to stay in school and hold activities as long as the weather allows.
Just a reminder there is no school Friday or Monday for the Easter holiday.

On Monday, March 30 Author Cherie Woodcock paid the elementary school a visit with her cow Seamus. Students in grades pre-k through 6th grade got to listen to Cherie read her book and then got to go outside to meet her cow Seamus.
The students had a blast meeting the sweetest highland cow. Thank you Cherie Woodcock for sharing your book and letting the kids love on Seamus!!
2nd grade and 6th grade got to meet Seamus, the highland cow, yesterday! The students enjoyed looking at pictures of the animals in Ms. Cherie's book about Life on the Farm before meeting Seamus.
After completing their unit on earthquake forces, our STEM class designed and tested their own earthquake-resistant structures this morning.
